Suzuki Manji 10-hole major diatonic harmonica – B

Introducing the Suzuki Manji Major 10-Hole diatonic harmonica

The Suzuki Manji Major is a harmonica built for players who love the rich, earthy tone of vintage instruments—but demand modern reliability and performance. Designed with blues players in mind, this 10-hole diatonic harmonica delivers exceptional sound, durability, and responsiveness, making it a favorite for expressive phrasing, deep bends, and dynamic stage performance.

One of Suzuki's most popular models over the last 10 years, the Manji harmonica features longer reeds than other diatonic models. These help to create a rich tone, and enable you to play louder without the feeling or sound of 'overblowing', and the big sound makes the Manji ideal for blues, rock and country styles. Innovative comb with a classic feelAt the heart of the Manji Major is a resin comb reinforced with natural wood fibers—a groundbreaking material that brings together the warmth of traditional wood and the stability of modern composites.

With over 50% natural wood content, this comb replicates the tone and feel of wood while resisting moisture, warping, and swelling—ensuring the harmonica stays in top playing condition in any climate or setting. Powerful projection with open-back covers The fully open-backed stainless steel cover plates are ergonomically designed and built to project sound with power and clarity.

This open design allows the reeds to breathe and resonate freely, enhancing volume and tonal depth while also giving the player better control over tone shaping and projection—ideal for live performance or recording. Longer, thicker reeds for rich expression The Manji Major features specially engineered reeds, longer and thicker than those found in most diatonics.

These reeds offer exceptional dynamic range, allowing for nuanced soft passages as well as bold, loud bends. Designed to respond faithfully to every breath, they’re also optimized for smooth bending and overblow techniques, making this harmonica incredibly expressive right out of the box. Tuned for blues and beyond Using compromised just intonation, the Manji Major balances sweet, resonant chords with spot-on single-note tuning.

It’s ideal for blues, roots, country, rock, and any genre where soulful phrasing and chordal richness are essential. Whether you’re vamping on a rhythm or soaring through a solo, the Manji Major gives you the tonal control and response you need to sound your best. Testimonial"The MANJI harmonica fulfills all of my requirements as a professional harmonica player.

Its streamlined body fits comfortably in the hands and is easy to play. Despite its rich, full sound—a quality any true professional seeks—it remains lightweight, allowing for advanced, expressive, and free-flowing performance. I'm proud to play this outstanding instrument."Billy Branch - award-winning harmonica player and two-time Grammy nomineeHow are Suzuki harmonicas labelled?

When choosing a harmonica, it’s important to know how the key is labelled—and Suzuki makes it simple. Unlike some brands that label their instruments by the second position (often used for blues), Suzuki harmonicas are labelled according to the first position, also known as straight harp. This means the key printed on the harmonica is the key you get when playing melodies in first position.

The handy table below shows you the corresponding keys for playing in each position. For example, if you want to play in the key of C in second position (C mixolydian), you need an F harmonica. First position - standard major scale, ideal for folk melodies and simple pop songsSecond position - mixolydian mode, perfect for the bluesThird position - dorian mode, lending a darker, minor soundscape Key C D♭ D E♭ E F F♯ G A♭ A B♭ B 1st C D♭ D E♭ E F F♯ G A♭ A B♭ B 2nd F F♯ G A♭ A B♭ B C D♭ D E♭ E 3rd B♭ B C D♭ D E♭ E F F♯ G A♭ A Suzuki harmonicas range diagrams
